در این بخش داستان های کوتاه که یکی از آنها به نام انگشتر جدید است و برای تقویت در زمینه آموزش زبان انگلیسی موثر می باشد وجود دارد.
گوینده: یک بعد از ظهر آفتابی بود. ویلیام شیکسپیر در حال کار کردن روی نمایشنامه خودش تاجر ونیس بود.
دختر او میاد به دیدنش.
دختر: پدر، انگشتر جدیدم رو ببین! دوست داشتنی نیست، طلایی و براق…
ویلیام: دختر عزیزم، خیلی زیباست. یه چیز به این زیبایی رو از کجا گرفتی؟
دختر: از بازار. خیلی ارزونتر از تاجر طلا بود!
ویلیام: طلای واقعی هستش؟
دختر: بله، البته!
ویلیام: خب، دختر عزیزم، چرا انگشترت سبزه؟
دختر: اااوووه!
ویلیام: دختر عزیزم، تو خیلی چیزا رو باید یاد بگیری… در حالی که دارم کار میکنم پیش من بشین.
تاجر ونیس. شاهزاده موراکو میخواد با پرشا زیبا ازدواج کنه.
ولی اول، باید از سه جعبه انتخاب کنه:
یکی ساخته شده از طلا، یکی ساخته شده از نقره، و سومی، سرب کم ارزش.
تنها یکی از جعبه ها تصویر پرشا رو تو خودش داره، و اگر شاهزاده جعبه اشتباهی رو انتخاب کنه، نمیتونه باهاش ازدواج کنه.
خب، دختر عزیزم اون کدوم جعبه رو انتخاب میکنه؟
دختر: جعبه طلایی! طلای واقعی هستش؟
ویلیام: اون قطعا جعبه طلایی رو انتخاب میکنه، و قطعا طلای واقعی هستش.
شاهزاده باور داره تنها زیباترین جعبه میتونه نقاشی پرشا زیبا رو داشته باشه.
ولی در واقع، عکس اون تو نیست، ولی طوماری با این کلمات: تمام این درخشانی ها طلا نیست…

اغلب شنیدی اینو میگن:
مردان بسیاری زندگیشون رو فروخته اند
ولی ظاهر من برای دیده شدن
دختر: اون این فکرو کرد چون جعبه از بیرون زیبا بود، یه چیز زیبایی باید از درون باشه… اون اشتباه کرد.
گوینده: ما فعلا این ها رو در اینجا ترک میکنیم.
تاجر ونیس یک نمایشنامه درباره پول، پول و پول هستش و عبارت تمام این درخشانی ها طلا نیست، به ما این هشدار رو میده که به وسیله مردم و یا چیزهایی که خوب به نظر میرسه گول نخوریم.
چون اونها ممکنه به همون خوبی که در ظاهر به نظر میان نباشن! در انگلیسی مدرن، کلمه glisters معمولا تغییر کرده به glitters یا glistens
کلیپ ۱: اون ماشین خیلی عالی به نظر میاد، ولی همه اون درخشانی ها طلا نیست، موتورش رو چک کن قبل از اینکه بخریش.
دختر: اوه پدر، برام یه حلقه طلای واقعی میخری؟ لطفا؟
ویلیام: هممم… خریدن یا نخریدن: مسئله این است.

The Merchant of Venice. The Prince of Morocco wants to marry the beautiful Portia.
But first, he must choose between three boxes:
one made of gold, the second of silver, and the third, of cheap lead.
Only one of the boxes contains a picture of Portia, and if the Prince chooses the wrong one, he cannot marry her.
So, dear daughter, which box does he choose?
Daughter: The gold box! Is it real gold?
Will: He chooses the gold box indeed, and indeed it is real gold.
The Prince believes that only the most beautiful box can hold the painting of the beautiful Portia.
But in fact, it holds not a picture, but a scroll with these words: All that glisters is not gold…

Daughter: He thought that because the box is beautiful on the outside, something beautiful must be inside… he was wrong.

The Merchant of Venice is a play about money, money, money, and the phrase all that glisters is not gold warns us not to be fooled by people or things that look good,
because they might not be as good as they look on the surface! In modern English, the word glisters is often changed to glistens or glitters.
Clip 1: Well that car looks fantastic, but all that glitters is not gold. Check the engine before you buy it.
Daughter: Oh father, will you buy me a real gold ring? Pleeeeeaase?
Will: Hmmm… to buy, or not to buy: that is the question.

ارتش مخالف ۶ یا ۷ هزار تا نیرو داره.
توماس: این خیلی زیاده!
ویلیام: ریچارد نمیترسه. اون سه برابر این تعداد سرباز داره.
توماس: بیست هزار نفر – ارتش بزرگیه!
ویلیام: بله، ولی ریچارد یه چیز قدرتمند تر از حتی بزرگترین ارتش داره.
اون نامش رو داره: پادشاه ریچارد. این نام اون رو قوی و قدرتمند میکنه.
باعث میشه مردم عادی از اون بترسن و بهش احترام بذارن.
توماس: بنابراین نام پادشاه ریچارد مثل یه برج قدرتمند هستش…
ویلیام: دقیقا. دشمن های ریچارد این قدرت رو ندارند.
توماس: بنابراین این جمله نیاز به اعتماد به نفس و قدرت داره.
ویلیام: بله. این نمایش در مورد قدرت هستش – و اینکه مردم برای بدست آوردنش چه کار میکنند. بیا تمرین کنیم.
من Norfolk هستم، فرمانده شما. شش یا هفت هزار نفر در بیشترین توان.
توماس سوان به عنوان ریچارد سوم.
چرا، گردان ما سه برابر حساب میشود. بعلاوه، نام پادشاه برج قدرت است.

در ریچارد سوم، یا من دوست دارم بهش بگم، نمایشنامه مافیا،
پادشاه ریچارد هرکسی که بین اون و قدرت مطلقی که اون میخواست ایستاده بود به قتل میرسونه،
از جمله پرنس ولز، برادرش کلرنس، میسترز ریورز، وان و گری، لرد هیستینگز، دو پسر از پادشاه ادوارد چهارم – و همسر خودش!
البته این روزا دیگه لازم نیست خانوادت رو بکشی تا به عنوان برج قدرت شناخته بشی – فقط باید قوی باشی، بشه روت حساب کرد، مورد اعتماد باشی، و خوب باشی در مواقع بحران.
مثل فوتبالیست دیود بکهام که میگه:
کلیپ ۱: الکس فرگوسن برای من مثل پدر بود. اون برج قدرت بود.
کلیپ ۲: شوهر من برج قدرت بود وقتی من اون عمل را داشتم – اون واقعا به خوبی از من مراقبت کرد.

گفته اگر تا ۵ دقیقه دیگه خونه نباشی، دیگه خودتو اذیت نکن هیچوقت بیای خونه.
توماس: دوباره غل و زنجیر قدیمی ها؟ بیخیال ویل، یه آبجو دیگه بزن!
ویلیام: هوووم… آبجو خوردن، یا نخوردن: مسئله این است.

Thomas: Will, how should I play this line?
What is Richard’s motivation here?
Will: Thomas, Thomas, don’t you understand? King Richard is about to go into battle.
The opposing army has six or seven thousand men.
Thomas: That’s a lot of men!
Will: Richard is not afraid. He has three times that number of soldiers.
Thomas: Twenty thousand men – that’s a big army!
Will: Yes, but Richard has something more powerful than even the greatest army.
He has his name: King Richard. That name makes him strong; powerful.
It makes ordinary people fear and respect him.
Thomas: So the name King Richard is as strong as a tower…
Will: Exactly. Richard’s enemies don’t have that.
Thomas: So this line needs strength and confidence.
Will: Yes. This play is about power – and what people will do to get it. Let us rehearse.
I am Norfolk, your general. Six or seven thousand is their utmost power.

Will: You have it! Well done! I’ll drink to that. Another jug of ale!

In Richard III, or as I like to call it, the Mafia play,
King Richard murdered everyone that stood between him and the absolute power that he wanted,
including the Prince of Wales, his brother Clarence, Misters Rivers, Vaughn and Grey, Lord Hastings, King Edward IV’s two young sons – and his own wife!
Of course, these days, you don’t have to kill your family to be described as a tower of strength – you just have to be strong, reliable, trustworthy, dependable and good in a crisis.
Like footballer David Beckham, who said:
Clip 1: Alex Ferguson was like a father to me. He was a tower of strength.
Clip 2: My husband was a tower of strength when I had that operation – he really looked after me well.
Barmaid: Mr Will, a message from your wife.
She says if you’re not home in five minutes, don’t bother coming home ever again.
Thomas: The old ball and chain at it again, eh? Come on Will, have another beer!
Will: Hmmm… To beer, or not to beer: that is the question.
