A: I have no time to cook. I don’t know what to do.
B: If I were you, I’d buy frozen dinners.
A: But I don’t have a microwave.
B: Well, why don’t you…?

الف: من وقت آشپزی ندارم. نمی دانم چه کنم.
ب: اگر من جای شما بودم، شام یخ زده می خریدم.
الف: اما من مایکروویو ندارم.
ب: خب چرا نمیکنی…؟

A: Everyone likes ice cream. My recommendation would be to create an ice-cream tour.
B: That’s a good idea. Or we could do something more unusual. How about a chili-pepper tour?

الف: همه بستنی دوست دارند. توصیه من این است که یک تور بستنی ایجاد کنید.
ب: این ایده خوبی است. یا می‌توانیم کاری غیرعادی‌تر انجام دهیم. تور فلفل چیلی چطور؟

2- Do you usually eat salty food? Why or why not?
3- What is your favorite street food? Why? Is it crunchy?

C- You and your partner are planning a menu for a special occasion. Discuss the following:
Why are you having the party? (To celebrate a birthday? a wedding? a graduation?)
What six dishes will you have?
How will you prepare each dish?
What does each dish taste like?

1- Yes, I do. Fried food usually tastes great. / No, I don’t usually eat fried food. I don’t think it’s very healthy.
2- Yes, I do. The food in my country is usually spicy. / No, I don’t like spicy food.
3- My favorite food is pancakes with spinach and cheese. I love how they taste. They’re not usually chewy if you eat them warm.
4- Hot dogs are popular in my country. They’re boiled and then served on bread with mustard and ketchup. Sometimes we put mashed potatoes and a vinaigrette sauce on top. They’re salty and nice.

1- No, I don’t. I think it’s too bland. / Yes, I do. Steamed food is good for you.
2- Yes, I do. I love salty food. It tastes great. / No, I don’t. I prefer sweet food.
3- Peanuts roasted in garlic are my favorite street food. I love how they smell and taste. They are crunchy and are often sold on street corners in my country.
4- A typical food from my country is satay. It’s made from small pieces of meat – usually chicken or beef. The meat is put on a wooden stick and roasted or grilled. Then it’s served with a peanut sauce. It’s a little spicy and sweet.

C- Useful phrases
If your students need extra support, provide them with some of these useful phrases:
OK, which [special occasion / dishes] should we choose?
I think we should have [two appetizers, two main dishes, and two desserts].
I think we should have [empanadas] as an appetizer.
That’s a great idea.
How about [apple pie] for dessert?
Do you agree?
I don’t know. Maybe we should have [ice cream].
Sounds good to me. Everybody loves [ice cream].
